Volunteers, along with the city of Liberty, are planning a citywide emergency preparedness fair called Liberty Prepared from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Liberty Community Center.

The fair is geared toward individuals and families in the Liberty area. It will teach participants how to survive natural and other disasters, including tornados and other severe weather, terrorist attacks, blackouts, floods, health epidemics, and personal and financial crises.

The indoor and outdoor fair will host booths and speakers, including the Clay County Health Department, Liberty Hospital, Federal Emergency Management Agency, local first-responders, canine search and rescue, and a meteorologist, among others.

There will also be food available.
