The 33rd annual Liberty Fall Festival is just weeks away.

The community’s seasonal celebration will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25 through 27, on and around the historic Liberty Square.

Liberty Mayor Greg Canuteson is looking forward to the event.

“I like seeing the community come together and have a good time,” he said.

This year’s fall festival will feature everything from a parade and booths to a carnival, concessions, children’s activities and entertainment, drawing people from throughout the region.

“It usually attracts more than 30,000 visitors over the three days,” said Lacy Crough of the Liberty Chamber of Commerce.

One of the featured attractions will again be the fall festival parade, which will take to the streets at 11 a.m. Sept. 26.

“It will start and end at Liberty Junior High, traveling east on Kansas Street, turning north one block by the chamber at Kansas and Leonard and then coming back to the school on Franklin Street,” Crough said.

Close to 100 entries are expected to participate in the parade.

There will even more entries found among the booths, which will feature everything from arts and crafts to products and services.

Crough said the booths would be found around the Square and in the parking lot east of City Hall.

The carnival will also be in a parking lot just east and south of City Hall. The carnival hours will be 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 25, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 26 and noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 27, which is also wristband day.

Concessions for a variety of tastes will be available throughout the festival.

So will the entertainment, which is being headlined this year by The Jeremy Nichols Band, which plays country, rock and pop. The band is set to perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 25 in front of the James S. Rooney Justice Center.

This year’s entertainment lineup also has a variety of other acts and activities Sept. 26 and 27.

Among the activities on Sept. 26 will be the Living History Street, featuring re-enactments, and Cruise Night for classic cars from 4 to 8 p.m. at Crowley Furniture.
