Famed fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead today. The tragic news has struck the fashion community hard. Many style blogs, Web sites and Twitter feeds reflect the industry's feelings on the designer's death.

According to Women's Wear Daily the 40-year-old British designer committed suicide in his home.

Here is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I'm always searching for new blogs and Web sites for inspiration. This one has inspired me to want go to home and make a necklace out of things lying around my garage. I probably won't, but it is fun to think that way.

There's not much to say about it other than it's a Web site that features handmade items by the site creator, so just check it out. It's called "P.S.- I made this..."

Liberty senior J.T. Nixon did it again.
And this one might have been the most improbable.
Nixon has developed a knack for hitting big shots in the closing seconds. He hit a 3-pointer that beat Kearney last season in a William Jewell Tournament semifinal game.

Who better to outfit the U.S. Olympians for the upcoming 2010 winter games than classic American designer Ralph Lauren?

The athletes will march into the games during the opening ceremony wearing classic Ralph Lauren-styled outfits. They'll wear navy and red puffer jackets and slim white pants. Liberty North conference opponents could change

A decision that is looming for the Hickman Mills School District will have a tremendous impact on the Liberty North athletic programs.
Hickman Mills is pondering whether to combine Hickman Mills and Ruskin together for budgetary reasons. If the district decides to bring the two schools together, it would radically alter the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference alignment.

Swimwear, we're not ready

I was out and about scouring some after holiday deals the other day and I have to say, I was rather disappointed. I was disappointed to see swimwear for sale at two stores the weekend after Christmas. The disappointment came from knowing that we won't get to wear swimwear for several very cold, long winter months. It's like a retail tease.

Goodbye to a decade of style

Ah, the end of a decade. I was going to try to recap the decade's top styles, but I can't seem to remember what we were all wearing in the early 2000s. Super low rise jeans? Graphic T-shirts? Trucker hats? I was in high school, that's all I remember.

As for the late 2000s ... leggings, skinny jeans and tunic tops. That was easy.

I think most of this decade's fashions were purely recycled from eras gone by. Come on designers, where's the new stuff? [...]

The Bank Midwest/William Jewell Holiday Classic got the matchup it wanted to close the tourney.

I encourage you to check out Style Rookie, a blog from 13-year-old Tavi Gevinson. She has created Style Rookie to be a place where she talks fashion and while also displaying her personal style. These boots are for walking

I found the most amazing boots ever. Well maybe not ever, but they rank very near the top. They're from United Nude, a shoe company started by an architect who teamed with a shoemaker.

These are my favorite and if I had the cash to spare, they would be mine.

These are pretty great, too.

The White House announced Monday that President Obama had named the members of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities. The committee included one very high profile fashion industry figure - Anna Wintour.
