It’s a great idea that a group of landlords has stepped forward to try to foster a more cooperative relationship with the city on rental properties. They even have a name, the Liberty Landlord Association.

Even though many of the homes and buildings in the Jewell Historic District date back to before the Civil War, the area east of Lightburne, south of Doniphan and north of Mill streets now has an exciting opportunity to create its own neighborhood association.

As we looked over the Liberty Police Department’s logs over the last year, we noticed a disturbing trend. There appeared to be many more suicides and suicide attempts than there had been the year before.
